Care & commitment

With my 11 years of experience in social services and mental healthcare, advocating for others is my passion and lifestyle. Helping people and the community drives me. I have provided essential services for veterans, seniors, the disabled, and the houseless, and I will continue this advocacy as your next assemblyman.

I will fight for small businesses, a better educational system, accessible healthcare, labor union rights, safer food, environmental justice, senior care, veteran rights, women's rights, immigrant rights, and more resources for the houseless. I look forward to sponsoring bills that will improve the quality of life for Nevadans.
Assemblyman Jovan Jackson represents Nevada’s Assembly District 6. His very first home was right here in the district.
Elected in 2024, Jackson entered the Nevada Legislature and immediately got to work, proving that leadership is not about titles… it’s about results. As a freshman legislator, he passed multiple impactful bills, including historic, first-in-the-nation legislation prohibiting artificial intelligence from replacing licensed therapists… protecting both patients and the integrity of mental health care.
He serves on key committees including Government Affairs, Health and Human Services, and Natural Resources… bringing a strong voice on issues ranging from veterans services to healthcare access and environmental protection.
Assemblyman Jackson made history as the first formerly incarcerated person elected to the Nevada State Legislature… a testament to resilience, redemption, and the belief that people deserve a second chance. His journey is not just personal… it’s a reflection of the community he represents.
Born and raised in Northeast Las Vegas, with deep family roots in North Las Vegas dating back to the 1960s, Jackson comes from generations who have been active members of Grace Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church. He understands his district because he’s lived it. A graduate of Desert Pines High School and the College of Southern Nevada, and a current student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he continues to invest in his own growth while serving others.
At 19, he launched his first business… and for over a decade, he has worked in mental health and social services, supporting individuals and families across Southern Nevada. His lived experience, including overcoming incarceration and surviving stage 3 cancer, has shaped a leadership style rooted in empathy, urgency, and action.
Assemblyman Jackson is committed to community… and committed to ensuring that the voices of Assembly District 6 are not just heard, but felt in the halls of the State Capitol.
He continues to fight for a district that is rich, diverse, and resilient… and for a future where every Nevadan has access to opportunity, dignity, and a real chance to succeed.
